This event is a half-day of learning and networking with Georgia Tech event planners.
🅿️ Parking
Attendees are encouraged to park in their normal spot and use campus transportation or enjoy a stroll across campus. For those driving, the nearest parking is at the W02 Visitor parking deck. This is a paid lot and attendees are responsible for their own parking.
👔 Attire
Attendees are encouraged to dress business causal. Name tags will be provided at the event.
♿ Special Accommodations

Learning from Our L.U.C.K. in Life: Lessons from Loss, Uncertainty, Change, and Kinfolk
Life inevitably brings moments of loss, uncertainty, and change that challenge our sense of identity, stability, and belonging. In this keynote, participants will explore resilience as a learned and shared practice shaped by the people, communities, and systems around us.
Through reflection, storytelling, and practical strategies, the session will examine how personal and professional disruptions can become opportunities for growth, adaptation, and renewed purpose. Participants will leave with actionable tools for navigating change with greater clarity, compassion, and confidence.
About Sonia Alvarez-Robinson
Sonia is an accomplished leader in the fields of strategy, innovation, culture, leadership, and resilience. With over 25 years of experience, she has led major organizational improvement initiatives on a global scale across government, corporate, healthcare, and higher education organizations.
Sonia partners with Georgia Tech leaders, faculty, students, and staff across the Institute to achieve priority goals and create healthy and productive cultures.
Prior to Georgia Tech, Sonia was a director at PwC where she helped companies around the world successfully implement new technologies, improve operations, and pursue new strategies. Earlier, Sonia led strategy for the Georgia Division of Public Health, served as an internal consultant for the Georgia Department of Human Resources, was director of distance communication and learning for the Minnesota Department of Public Health, served as an HR business partner for Cummins Power Generation, led diversity and inclusion for the Minnesota Department of Health, was State Recruiter for the Minnesota Department of Employee Relations, and was an equal employment opportunity counselor for the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.
