Graduate Student Welcome

The Institute welcomes graduate students to campus with Graduate Student Convocation and Graduate Picnic. These events are open to all graduate students to attend.

Rain Location

Due to impending weather, the Graduate Picnic will take place at McCamish Pavilion.
The Graduate Picnic will still take place from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Graduate Convocation

What to expect

We will welcome new graduate students to campus as we share Georgia Tech's traditions, academic standards, and provide students with spirit items.

  • This is a general admission event. All students and their guests are welcome to attend.
  • Dress code for this event is causal.
  • Guests are encouraged to arrive early. The first 2,000 to arrive and scan their buzzcards will receive a swag bag with Tech tradition items. 
  • After the program, attendees may remain at McCamish for the Grad Picnic.

What to expect

All graduate students and their families are invited to mix and mingle as we celebrate the start of a new school year with the theme of "Fun, Food, Friends". This festive event features games, photo opportunities, giveaways, and fun for the entire family.

Due to impending weather, the location for this event has been moved to McCamish Pavilion.

  • This is a general admission event. No tickets are required.
  • Dress code for this event is casual.
  • Food trucks will be available offering free concessions.

  • Guests are encouraged to park in the E81 lot (Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center) or W23 lot (State Street). These are paid lots. 
  • Only handicap guests with a current handicap parking tag will be permitted to park in the E65 lot behind McCamish Pavilion.
