New Student Convocation
New Student Convocation is a welcome ceremony for Georgia Tech incoming students. Held on the day before the first day of classes, all incoming students will receive their RAT cap, T-Book, and Georgia Tech pin.

Event Information
Who can attend this event?
All incoming new students are invited to attend. This includes first-year students and transfer students.
What should I wear to the event?
Causal dress code encouraged. No umbrellas are allowed in the venue.
What parking is available for off-campus guests?
Parking is available in Tech Square and along Fowler Street. View the visitor parking website for more details.
Transportation
Student Shuttles: West campus students can get to McCamish by taking a shuttle located outside of Fitten Residence Hall.
Parents and Guardians can access a shuttle to McCamish located outside of the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center.
What should I expect?
Students will hear words of welcome from campus leadership, receive their Rat Cap, and enjoy a lively pre-show featuring student organizations.
RAT Cap Pickup
Didn't get to attend New Student Convocation? RAT caps and other available items are available for pickup at the Center for Student Engagement offices on the third floor of the John Lewis Student Center, Suite 3110.
Be this year's Second Year Speaker!
Rising second year students at Georgia Tech are welcome to apply to be this year's student speaker at New Student Convocation on Sunday, August 23. One student will be selected by a panel of faculty, administrators, and students to share an inspirational message for this year's incoming class. The deadline for submissions ended on Friday, July 24. Email events@gatech.edu if you have any questions.
